Is the drink or dining package worth it?

Type in what you really drink and eat, and the prices your cruise line shows in its app or on its website. The calculator shows how many drinks or meals it takes to break even, and which way saves you money.

The starting numbers are examples only. They are not any cruise line's prices. Replace them with your line's current prices.

Before you buy a package

Many lines require every adult in the cabin to buy the drink package if one does. Check the rules for your sailing.
Water, regular coffee, tea, iced tea, and lemonade are free in the main dining room and buffet on most ships. Count only what you'd pay for.
Prices change, and lines run sales before you sail. Buying early can cost less than buying on board.
Packages often come with a daily drink limit and age rules. Read the fine print before you pay.
